This past weekend I spent it at the church with a wonderful group of girls from my church and also from Mount Taber UMC. It was a fun weekend. It was the annual Winter Jam for Junior Students. Winter Jam is where they gather with old and new friends and youth leaders and become closer to Jesus. The days were long and the nights were short. Let's just say, 2 am was the bedtime both nights.
This particular weekend was about finding out "Who you are, and are you willing to take that journey". The speaker was awesome. He not only spoke to the girls in my room, but he also spoke to me. He made me realize that there is more to my life and well being than I think. He also asked us (whole group) if we really knew who we were. At that moment I began to see my small group melt a little as well as myself in realizing that we have a lot to be grateful for, but there is much more to come, we just need to see it. Let me say, we talked about this for almost two hours, and within that two hours we even had the speaker come to our room, because the girls had questions for him. I was pleased with my little group and the growth that they made this weekend.
Sunday morning came and went and I went home to be with my family. It was nice to see them, since I have not talked to them since Thursday. My mom and i worked on card making kits for our weekend at the Amish door. My mom has over 70 cards ready to make and I have about 30...I better get busy. HA I ended up camping out at my parents on the living room floor in front of the fire that my Dad built. I was very comfy.
Monday came, and I did not have to go to work. We were closed for MLK Day. It was a nice thing to have after a sleepless weekend. As a family we went out and ran errands, my dad took my mom and I to Pat Catans to look for card things and for me to use my gift card (and I still have half of it left YEAH). We also went to Mindy's and made some good purchases on the paper and other supplies. Everything was 50% off because they are closing. :(
Well that is this pass weekend and and today in a nutshell. It's back to work tomorrow. Until next time, enjoy the snow and stay warm.
